Space Charge Simulations of Photoemission Using the Differential Algebra-based Multiple-Level Fast Multipole Algorithm
Abstract
A grid-free algorithm based on the multiple level fast multipole algorithm
and differential algebra is developed to calculate the electrostatic
field of an ensemble of charged particles and its high order derivatives. The
efficiency of the algorithm scales linearly with the number of particles
for any arbitrary distribution. The algorithm is parallelized to further
improve its efficiency. Simulation results on photo-emission process
using this algorithm are presented.
